Nepal’s most anticipated automotive festival, the 17th edition of the NADA Auto Show, officially opened today at the Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall in Kathmandu, inaugurated by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
Running from August 19 to 24, the six-day event once again positions itself as the largest automotive exhibition in Nepal, bringing together the latest vehicles, and next-generation mobility technologies that will shape the country’s transportation future.
Organized by the NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal, the event carries forward a 17-year legacy of being the nation’s leading platform for automotive trends and smart mobility solutions. This year’s edition is particularly focused on future-ready technologies, highlighting the rapid evolution of electric cars, autonomous systems, flying taxis, and even humanoid robots.

Spread across a vast 300,000 square feet with 162,500 square feet of exhibition space at the Bhrikutmandap Exhibition hall, the show floor has been carefully curated to offer a balance of global innovation and local pride.The event runs daily from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., welcoming families, professionals, and automotive enthusiasts alike.
More than 70 national and international exhibitors are participating, with 120 stalls showcasing everything from passenger cars and commercial vehicles to motorcycles, automotive parts, and financial services. A total of 19 four-wheeler brands, 14 light commercial vehicle brands, and four two-wheeler brands are represented this year, along with 35 companies specializing in lubricants, tires, batteries, garage equipment, and supporting mobility services.
Visitors are being treated to some of the most exciting and futuristic products ever seen in Nepal. Among the highly anticipated launches are the BYD Atto 2, the Suzuki eVitara, Changan Lumin, Nammi Vigo, Xpeng X9, Geely Galaxy E5, Juneyao Auto and Jinpeng Auto, among many others.
Two standout models from Hero MotoCorp, the Xpulse 210 and Xoom 160, are making their debut in Nepal. Adding to the futuristic atmosphere, Chinese robotics company UNITREE is showcasing its G1 humanoid robot and G01 quadruped robot, providing visitors with a glimpse into how robotics and mobility may converge in the years ahead.

However, the undisputed star attraction is the Deepal eVTOL flying taxi, a pioneering aerial mobility concept that has captured significant attention. While eVTOLs remain in their trial phase globally due to evolving regulations, its presence at the show symbolizes Nepal’s openness to futuristic solutions.
Alongside new product launches, the auto show features thematic zones and activities. The Made-in-Nepal Pavilionhighlights locally assembled vehicles and components, while the Business Pavilion offers insights into global mobility trends. Daily workshops and seminars focus on topics such as electric vehicle adoption and sustainable transport. A Vintage pavillion adds a retro element with its display of classic vehicles, showcasing the industry’s heritage.
The event runs daily from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., welcoming families, professionals, and automotive enthusiasts alike. Expectations are high, given that the 2024 edition of the NADA Auto Show concluded with a record-breaking 82,000 visitors and more than 30 product launches. With a lineup that includes futuristic flying taxis, humanoid robots, cutting-edge EVs, and vintage classics, industry watchers are predicting that the 2025 edition may well surpass last year’s milestone.
For Nepal, the event symbolizes more than automobiles. It highlights the country’s shift toward electrification and sustainable mobility, with Prime Minister Oli’s inauguration underscoring its growing role in economic progress.
